All Eyes On Maradona And Argentina In South Africa

0

The World Cup is just a few days old and there have been a number of high profile incidents on the pitch but after all theses years Diego Maradona is still managing to steal the limelight, in his day he was quite simply a genius on with the football but few would have picked him as a future Manager of the National team. The Argentinians struggled through qualification with Maradona taking over half way through but they have arrived in South Africa with a real chance of picking up the trophy. They are already off to a winning start after they defeated Nigeria 1-0 with the team playing some good attacking football, all the while Maradona was stood on the touchline prowling like a lion and and waving his arms frantically.

All the indications are that Maradona is not your average Football Manager in South Africa this Summer, he is there to inspire the players rather than coach them but if he can lead Argentina to World Cup glory his status as a God in the Country will rise even further. He is the focus if the cameras wherever he goes which may work in the favour of the players with the pressure deflected to the Manager, this should allow the likes of Messi, Tevez, Higuain ans Di Maria to weave their magic which always proves easy on the eye for the fans and punters. There is no doubting that Argentina have a squad capable of going all the way with the likes of Diego Milito and Sergio Aguero so far unable to even get in the first 11 which highlights the strength and depth which they have.

Maradona will know that his team have enough fire power up front but he will also know that keeping them out at the other end might prove considerably more difficult, they play four centre-halves meaning they can be a little susceptible to pacy wingers which they are sure to come up against at some point in South Africa. It may be that Argentina go in with a ‘we can score more goals than you’ attitude and if Lionel Messi performs to the best of his ability they will prove extremely hard to resist for punters in the World Cup Betting. If Maradona can inspire the team to glory over the next month the little magician may be about to write yet another glorious chapter in a career of incredible highs and deep lows.
