McLeish Given £40million to Spend But Will He Make It To January?

0

alex-mcLeishNew Birmingham City Owner Carson Yeung rode into town this week promising to give Manager Alex McLeish a transfer kitty of up to £40 million in the transfer window, but speculation is rife that the Scot may not even make it that far as the new owner wants to bring his own man in at the first opportunity. Yeung publicly has said he will support the Manager but the bookies are not convinced with VC Bet still showing McLeish as one of the favourites in the Next Premier League Manager to be Sacked market with the Scot hovering around the 13/2 mark currently. The new owner from Hong Kong says that he wants to turn the club into the biggest team in Birmingham which was an early warning for Aston Villa fans as well as McLeish who knows that he will need to produce results straight away if he wants to stay in the hot seat in the long term.

Carson Yeung’s right hand man is Sammy Yu who is going to be running the club on a day-to-day basis at the training ground and he has warned McLeish must “keep an open mind” about the new regime which is an ominous statement for the former Scotland and Rangers Manager. McLeish has said he is happy to take all advice on board but that he will have the final say on both transfers and team selections and for his sake he better hope that will turn out to be the case as it could well be a match made in hell otherwise.

Birmingham have made a decent enough start to the Premier League season following promotion but their squad has been ravaged by injuries and is starting to look thread bare at the best which will be a major worry for McLeish. The club have been desperate for investment for several years with the previous owners unable to pump enough cash into the playing squad, and in Carson Yeung both the fans and the Manager are praying they have found the right man to take them forward and turn them into a solid Premier League club. The only question that needs answering at this stage is; Does Carson Yeung believe that Alex McLeish is the man to lead their charge up the table?
