Peter Taylor Installed as New Bradford Manager

0

Peter Taylor has been appointed the new Manager of Bradford City on a short-term contract until the end of the season, Taylor has been brought in to replace Stuart McCall who resigned last week following a poor run of results that has left the Bantams 16th in the League two table and looking over their shoulders. Bradford have suffered from an alarming fall from grace over the last ten years as the side have gone from the Premier League to League Two in just a few short seasons, Taylor has been brought into steady the ship as the club look to work their way back up the ladder.

Taylor himself has had a varied career over the years which even saw him manage the England team back in 2000 but despite being seen as one of the bright young coaches a few years ago things have not quite worked out for him, he has had stints at Leicester, Wycombe, Brighton and Hull with mixed results. Taylor will be hoping to earn himself a longer contract at Valley Parade but that will only happen if results pick up over the next couple of months, Bradford are a big club with a good stadium and fan base that is well above League Two and Taylor is being charged with making that a reality.

Taylor has had success in Yorkshire before with Hull who were a struggling League Two outfit when he took charge before leading them up the table and to promotion and he is aiming to do the same thing with Bradford. He has already stated that he is hoping for a long term deal at Valley Parade which will be encouraging for the Bradford faithful who have only seen despair in recent seasons as they have slipped down the league at an alarming rate, it was just ten years ago that Bradford beat Liverpool to stay in the Premier League but things have gone wrong on and off the pitch since those heady days.
