Dunfermline boss Jim McIntyre remains the favourite in the Next SPL Manager To Be Sacked betting market following his side’s 1-0 defeat to Aberdeen at the weekend. The Pars had the opportunity to get off the foot of the table but their lethargic performance means they remain rock-bottom of the Scottish Premier League, with only one league win from their last 11 matches. The club have struggled for consistency this season and are in desperate need of a spark in order to claw their way out of their miserbale slump.

Last season Dunfermline were crowned the Irn-Bru First Division champions but they have so far failed to impress in their return to Scotland’s top flight. Despite a bright start to the season, where they took eight points from their first four games, the club have crumbled winning just two league games since August. They are still without a win at East End Park, with their last home league win coming way back in May when they were in the First Division. Their season has been plagued by defence errors, with The Pars conceding a whopping 31 goals at home this term – that’s nearly three a game. At the moment the fight for survival seems to be between themselves and Hibernian, with Hibs earning a valuable three points when the sides met a a couple of weeks ago.

McIntrye insists that the board are behind him and that he is eager to bolster his squad in order to boost the club’s chances of survival. However, he is well aware that the season is by no means over and will be hoping his side can steer themselves out of their current rut before it is too late. They will look to put the defeat to Aberdeen behind them and focus on their next match at home to Kilmarnock on Tuesday 7th February. They recently thumped Killie 3-0 at Rugby Park and will head into the match looking for another comprehensive and clinical display.

Pat Fenlon has been unveiled as the new Hibernian Manager on a two-and-a-half year deal. He becomes the club’s fifth manager in just four years after deciding to leave his post as boss of League of Ireland club Bohemians. The 42-year-old replaces the sacked Colin Calderwood who has since joined Championship club Birmingham City as Chris Houghton’s assistant. Originally Shamrock Rovers manager Michael O’Neill and experienced SPL manager Jim Jefferies topped the Next Hibernian Manager Betting but once Fenlon emerged as the bookies favourite it appeared that Hibs had found their replacement, with Fenlon as short as 1/8 in the days leading up to today’s appointment.

During his time in Ireland Fenlon managed Shelbourne, Derry City and Bohemians, winning a combined five League of Ireland championships and three Cups. The Hibs vacancy proved to be too good to turn down and he was able to leave Bohemians because of a clause in his contract that allowed him to be released without compensation. He takes over ninth place Hibs who are just two points from bottom in the SPL. Their home form has really let them down, with their only win this season at Easter Road coming against St Johnstone back in September. Fenlon is both a successful and ambitious manager and will look to get Hibs back to winning ways in front of their passionate home supporters.

Fenlon will be thrust straight into action as Hibs travel to St Johnstone on Saturday. Hibs have won just one of their last six SPL matches while high flying Saints managed to hold league leaders Rangers to a goalless draw last Saturday. Paddy Power have installed the home side as the 11/10 favourites while Hibs can be backed at 5/2 to get off to a winning start under Fenlon. A draw is available at 9/4.

All odds provided by Paddy Power.

Pat Fenlon has emerged as the new favourite in the Next Hibernian Manager Betting with odds of 1/2 with bookmakers Paddy Power. Fenlon has replaced the former frontrunner Michael O’Neill at the top of the betting as he becomes the man in the frame to replace Colin Calderwood who was sacked early this month. Despite having his odds slashed and the heavy speculation linking him to the job, as of yet there is believed to have been no formal approach for Fenlon from Hibs.

Fenlon is currently managing the League of Ireland side Bohemians with whom he is currently in talks with about his future. The 42-year-old has been in charge since late 2007, steering the club to the League of Ireland and FAI Cup double in his very first season and holding onto the title the following campaign, as well as guiding the club to glory in the League of Ireland Cup. However, this season ended in disappointment as they could only finish fifth. Fenlon has a year to run on his contract but is unsure whether he will sign an extension as the club are in the midst of a debt crisis. One bonus for Hibs is that Fenlon’s contract reportedly contains a clause that states that they would not have to pay Bohemians compensation should Fenlon wish to leave.

Up until Tuesday Shamrock Rover boss Michael O’Neill was the hot favourite for the job. However, he is still very much in the running and with his future with the Irish side in doubt there is still every chance that he could make the switch over to Scotland. O’Neill only has two matches left under his current deal and is yet to agree to a new contract with Rovers. Other names in the betting include Terry Butcher, Jimmy Calderwood and Jim Jefferies.

Hibernian host Kilmarnock on Saturday as the SPL returns to action following the international break. Paddy Power have installed Hibs as the 11/8 favourite, while Kilmarnock are priced at 19/10, with a draw available at 11/8. A win for Hibs would see them jump one point ahead of their opponents in the league.

SPL side Hibernian are currently searching for their fifth manager in just four years after sacking Colin Calderwood on Sunday following a disappointing year in charge. Yesterday the club announced that they have appointed assistant boss Billy Brown as interim manager over the international break while they begin the recruitment process for a new manager. At this early stage there are a number of candidates in the running to become the Next Permanent Manager Of Hibernian with Shamrock Rovers manager Michael O’Neill and former Hearts boss Jim Jefferies the narrow favourites in the betting.

Supporters have been left frustrated at the number of managers the club has been through under chairman Rod Petrie. Calderwood was the latest in a long line of managers to fail to impress with his appointment lasting just over 12 months. After an inconsistent start Hibs find themselves one point from bottom and are in desperate need of an injection of life in order to kick-start their season.

Former Hibs midfielder Michael O’Neill has been pinpointed as one of the favourites following his success with Irish club Shamrock Rovers. Experienced SPL manager Jim Jefferies is also in the frame to take over at Easter Road, as is Billy Brown. Hibs have some time to recuperate during the international break before they play Kilmarnock, who sit two points above them in the league, on 19th November.

St Johnstone have today announced that the bookies favourite Steve Lomas has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract to become their new manager. The 37-year-old succeeds Derek McInnes who left the club for Championship side Bristol City last month. The former Northern Ireland, West Ham and Man City midfielder joins an ambitious club that are currently flying high in fourth place in the Scottish Premier League (SPL). Shortly after making the appointment the club’s chairman, Geoff Brown, announced he was pulling the curtains on his 25-year reign at the club and has been succeeded by his son Steve.

Lomas has never played or managed in the SPL which may be of slight concern to some supporters. On retiring from playing the game the Ulsterman worked as a coach at Norwich City before experincing his first managerial job at non-league side St Neots Town, and then most recently working as reserve team manager at former club West Ham. Lomas will now look to maintain St Johnstone’s impressive start to the season as he aims to prove he is the right man for the job.

Lomas’ first match in charge will be live on Sky Sports at McDiarmid Park against Aberdeen on Monday night. Aberdeen are yet to win on the road this season and a win for St Johnstone would strenthen their position in fourth place. Paddy Power have the hosts available at 13/10 to get off to a winning start under their new manager, while Aberdeen have been handed odds of 21/10, with a draw priced at 9/4.

Veteran Rangers captain David Weir has emerged as the new frontrunner in the Next St Johnstone Manager Betting following the breakdown in negotiations between the club and the hot favourite Paul Cook. The current manager of Sligo Rovers was the odds-on 1/8 favourite to get the job but it was today revealed that he failed to reach an agreement with the club, believed to be due to family reasons. As a result Weir has been installed as the 9/4 favourite with Stan James to get the job.

The Saints have been searching for a new manager since Derek McInnes left them a week ago to join Championship side Bristol City. Livingston manager Gary Bollan originally topped the betting for the job but during the last few days it appeared that Paul Cook would be confirmed as McInnes’ replacement. However, since those negotiations collapsed it is Rangers’ 41-year-old defender David Weir who is in the frame, with Bollan also still in the running with odds of 9/2. The betting is wide open with former Saints player Paul Sheerin available at 5/1 and Ayr United boss Brian Reid priced at 6/1.

St Johnstone coach Alex Cleland and former Chelsea midfielder Jody Morris, who took charge of the team during last weekend’s draw with Dundee United, will continue to be in temporary charge of the squad ahead of Saturday’s match with St Mirren. Cleland is reportedly interested in the job on a permanent basis and is currently available at 7/1. Stan James have priced St Johnstone as the 11/10 favourites to win at the weekend, while St Mirren have been handed odds of 11/5, with a draw available at 5/2.

All odds provided by Stan James.

Gary Bollan has been installed as the early favourite in the Next St Johnstone Manager Betting following Derek McInnes departure to Championship side Bristol City. Bollan, who is currently in charge of Scottish Football League First Division side Livingston, has been handed odds of 2/1 with Stan James. For the time being St Johnstone club coach Alec Cleland and former Chelsea player Jody Morris have been put in charge for Saturday’s Tayside derby against Dundee United.

Whoever replaces McInnes certainly has a tough act to follow. During his four years at the club he guided them up to the Scottish Premier League and made them an established side in Scotland’s top flight, with back-to-back eighth place finishes. It was only a matter of time before and English club came calling and McInnes leaves the club sitting nicely in fifth place, just a point behind giants Celtic.

Bollan has emerged as the early favourite with the Livingston boss credited with being one of the talented upcoming managers in Scotland. David Weir’s odds have been cut from 10/1 to 11/4 making the Rangers veteran one of the leading candidates to replace McInnes. However, he may be a vastly experienced player but he has no managerial experience which may hinder his chances. Elsewhere Jody Morris is available at 4/1, while experienced SPL managers John Hughes and Jim Jefferies, who are both without a club, have been handed odds of 14/1 to take charge of St Johnstone.

Following his departure from Nottingham Forest earlier in October many have pondered just what Steve McClaren can do to resurrect his floundering managerial career, with Stan James recently opening up a Steve McClaren Next Job betting market. One of the reasons McClaren returned to England back in June was to attempt to restore his tarnished reputation, however, after his nightmare stint at Forest he may now either decide to take some time off or alternatively opt to jump right back into the thick of things and face all of his critics and take up another managerial job in England or perhaps even venture off abroad.

Available at odds of 2/1, Continental Europe is McClaren’s most likely option according to the betting. After being sacked as England manager due to his failure to guide the national team to Euro 2008 the 50-year-old fled to Dutch side FC Twente, which proved to be very wise move as he successfully guided the club to their first ever league title. Following his exploits in Holland he moved down to Germany to manage Bundesliga club Wolfsburg. Unfortunately things didn’t go as planned and he was sent packing after just seven months in charge. McClaren may now want to test himself in one of Europe’s other leagues such as France, Portugal or Spain.

McClaren is available at odds of 11/4 to bite the bullet and make an instant return to the Championship and begin to rebuild his reputation. One option could be Portsmouth who find themselves managerless after Steve Cotterill became McClaren’s successor at Nottingham Forest. McClaren can currently be found with odds of 25/1 in the Next Portsmouth Manager Betting. Another option is the Premier League, however, it is unlikely that a top flight club will want to put their faith in him following his failings at Forest. If McClaren wants a job in England he may have to face stepping down a division, and is available at 12/1 to join a League One or Two club.

McClaren is also priced at 16/1 to cross the border and join a Scottish Premier League club. St Johnstone have a vacancy available due to Derek McInnes departure to Bristol City, while Neil Lennon is currently under pressure at Celtic. Other options include Asia and the Middle East at 5/1 or perhaps he might jump ship to America and manage a MLS side at 8/1.

Derek McInnes is reportedly set to swap Scottish Premier League side St Johnstone for Championship outfit Bristol City after impressing during an interview. The 40-year-old is the odds on favourite in the Next Bristol City Manager Betting and looks to have beaten the likes of former Barnsley boss Mark Robins to the vacancy. McInnes is expected to be appointed on Thursday when he will sign a three-and-a-half year contract with the club. Meanwhile, coach Alan Walsh is to leave City after more than 30 years.

City have been looking for a new manager since sacking Keith Millen earlier in October following a poor start to the season. Dave Jones emerged as the early favourite for the job, with Mark Robins, Sean O’Driscoll and McInnes also in the running. However, during the past few days there has been heavy murmurings linking McInnes with the post and it now appears that he has won the race to manage City. McInnes took charge of St Johnstone in November 2007, guiding the club to a third place finish in Division One at the end of the 2007/08 season. The following year he led the Saints to top spot as they won promotion to the SPL. This was followed by back-to-back eighth place finishes and if he does, as expected, join City then he leaves St Johnstone sitting fifth in the table, just a point behind Celtic in third.

Bristol City host Birmingham City at Ashton Gate on Sunday 23rd October. If McInnes is in charge by that time then City will be gunning to get there season back-on-track with a moral boosting win. Paddy Power have installed the visitors as the narrow 6/4 favourites for the three points, while City can be found with odds of 7/4, with a draw available at 23/10.

The pressure is mounting on Celtic boss Neil Lennon following the club’s disappointing start to the season. Both Lennon and his players have been heavily criticised for Celtic’s lacklustre performances which has left them third in the Scottish Premier League and winless in Europe. The Next Celtic Manager betting market has now opened up following their poor form with former boss Martin O’Neill installed as the 9/2 favourite, while Paul Lambert and Billy Davies are also in the mix with odds of 5/1 with Stan James.

The Hoops are currently ten points behind Old Firm rivals Rangers in the SPL, a considerable margin considering they have only played ten matches. Celtic had to battle back from three goals down to snatch a draw away to Kilmarnock at the weekend, a result which saw them slip three points behind second-placed Motherwell. Although Lennon will be pleased with the way his side fought back he will be bitterly disappointed with the first-half performance which saw Celtic leak in three goals. Inconsistency has been the club’s major problem this season and there has also been recent media speculation that Lennon has lost the confidence of his players, and if that is true then it will only be a matter of time until he is given the boot.

Celtic are in European action on Thursday night as they prepare for an important game away to Rennes in Group I. Celtic are currently bottom of the group with just a point from their opening two matches which means they will be gunning for a win to get themselves back in with a chance of qualifying. It will certainly be a tough ask as Rennes are unbeaten in eight European home games, with Stan James installing the French side as the odds on 7/10 favourites to come away with a win. Celtic have been handed odds of 4/1 to pick up the three points while a draw is available at 13/5.

Three days later Lennon will be looking to haul Celtic back into contention in the league with home win against Aberdeen. Celtic are the 1/4 favourites to win the match, with Aberdeen priced as 10/1 outsiders, with a draw at 9/2.
