Manager Profile

Brian McDermott has worked his way up the ranks, from managing Slough and Woking to fulfilling a number of roles with Reading, including Under-19, reserve and eventually first-team manager.

McDermott got Reading promoted to the Premier League in 2012 but his joy was short-lived as he was sacked in March 2013 following a tough introduction to life in the top-flight.

McDermott was back in management with Leeds during the ill-fated reign of owner Massimo Cellino, before returning to Reading for a brief spell six month spell.

The Sack Race's Opinion

Brian McDermott is a well-respected coach for what he achieved with Reading, and it surely won't be long until we see him back in the managerial arena.
