Carlo Ancelotti is the newly appointed Manager of Chelsea taking over from Guss Hiddink who has returned to his job as the coach of the Russian National Football Team. Ancelotti has joined the Blues from AC Milan where he had been in charge for eight years which included two Champions League victories which is what everyone at Stamford Bridge craves.

Ancelotti will be expected to produce pretty instant success at Chelsea as they look to topple Man United in the Premier League as well as trying to conquer Europe for the first time. Since Jose Mourinho left the club the likes of Avram Grand and Luiz Felips Scolari have tried and failed to succeed with both men shown the door within a year of taking the hot seat. Ancelotti will be hoping to avoid the same fate and knows that he will not be given a huge amount of time by Roman Abromovich.

Ancelotti has had an excellent playing and coaching career at the San Siro including winning the Champions League Trophy in both capacities and it was that experience that led him to the job at Stamford Bridge. He had been in charge of Milan for eight years and was on the look for a new challenge when the the Russian Billionaire came knocking at just the right time.

Job Security

Ancelotti has only just arrived in London and will most likely be allowed a small amount of time to settle in and start producing results but as we all know Roman Abramovich is hungry for success and second place is seen as failure. He will be expected to produce a good style of football and most impoetantly to bring trophies to Stamford Bridge which is something that proved costly to Luiz Felipe Scolari. Big Phil barely lasted to the new year in his first season and Ancelotti will be only too aware of that fact so will be eager to get the boys in blue challenging on all fronts.
