John Ward returned to manage former sideBristol Rovers in December 2012. It is Ward's first job in the dugout since he was sacked by Colchester United back in September after paying the price for woeful run of results. He will now be looking to lead Rovers back into League One.
Ward has had various jobs in the lower leagues with spells atr clubs like Bristol Rovers, York, Carlisle and Bristol City among others. Ward has had varied success during his long Managerial career with his spell at Cheltenham Town proving particularly successful.
Ward led Cheltenham to promotion to League during his near three year spell at he club which was a major achievement for such a small club. Ward deserved much of the credit for that promotion and that success will ensure he is a man for the lower League Chairmen to consider when they are looking for new Manager.
Ward also has the honour of being one of the few men to manage both Bristol clubs, he did both jobs in the 90's with average amounts of success. Ward has gained a massive amount of experience over the years in the hot seat and that has to be respected in these times when the pressure is on from the first day of the season.
