Paulo Sergio left Hearts on June 7th after rejecting a new contract. Sergio only joined the club back in August 2011 but has decided not to continue as manager, despite winning the Scottish Cup last season.
The Portuguese manager has been coaching since 2003, with spells at Olhanense, Santa Clara, Beira-Mar, Pacos Ferreira and Vitoria Guimaraes.
In April 2010 he succeeded Carlos Carvalhal at Sporting Clube de Portugal but left the following February following a run of poor results, which indluded being dumped out of the Europa League by Rangers.
He was named as the new Hearts manager in August 2011.
Sergio has been a controversial figure since his arrival and a result has featured prominantly in the Next SPL Manager To Be Sacked odds. The club will be looking for a third place finish but this is looking increasingly slim, with Motherwell looking comfortable behind Celtic and Rangers.
