Richie Barker is the manager of League One side Crawley Town after signing a two-year contract in Ausgut 2012. Barker left Bury Town in order to take up the job and move closer to his family and will be looking to lead the club to the play-offs in his second season in charge, after they finished 10th in 2012/13.
Richie Barker has enjoyed considerable success since taking over as Bury Manager just a few games before the end of the 2010/11 season. Barker led The Shakers to six successive wins and subsequent promotion to League One. It was a stunning start to his managerial career and Barker was quickly the hero of the hour at Gigg Lane.
Since then Bury have started life solidly in League One and Barker will be keen to seem them establish themselves in the higher division over the next couple of seasons'. It will of course be a tough task for Barker but so far the signs are good with Bury away from the relegation zone.
Barker had a long career as a player in the lower leagues with spells at Mansfield Town and Rotheram proving particularly fruitful for him. This experience of the Lower Leagues in England should stand him good stead when managing Bury which he will hope will offset the fact that this is his first experience as a Manager.
