Simon Grayson is currently in his fifth spell in the dugout, with Championship side Sunderland, a position he has held since late June 2017.
Grayson has previously been in charge of Preston North End, Huddersfield, Leeds and Blackpool, winning promotion to the Championship with all three clubs, with Preston making it four promotions from the third tier for the Yorkshireman, following their play-off final victory over Swindon in May, 2015.
Known as 'Larry' after the late comedian who shared the same surname, Grayson made his name as player with Leicester City in mid 90s, before spells with Aston Villa and Blackburn, eventually finishing his playing career with Blackpool.
It now all boils down to a one-game season next weekend.
You always want to go into a club and leave them in a better shape than when you arrived, and I've done that with all three of mine.

The Sack Race's Opinion
Simon Grayson continues to impress and is building a strong CV after relatively successful spells at all of his clubs. Despite getting results, his tactical approach can often divide opinions of fans, as his defensive first attitude is not always the easiest on the eye, but is hugely effective in results business.
