Who will Notts County appoint as their new manager?by Jack Kitson / 12 January 2017, 10:14Tweet
Notts County will reportedly name their new manager today (Thursday) and in truth no one has a clue of the identity of John Sheridan’s potential successor.
On Wednesday the Magpies were taken over by local businessman Alan Hardy, who broke the news on Twitter:
Finally got there guys, thank you for all your tremendous support! Now let's get this Club back where it belongs! New World starts today! https://t.co/DwOb6L807P— Alan Hardy (@Bigalanh5) January 11, 2017
Mark Robins was immediately slashed in the betting from 11/8 to just 1/5, but just as it looked like the job was his a certain Kevin Nolan then stormed out of no where from 18/1 to the odds-on favourite.
The former Leyton Orient manager remains the slim 1/3 frontrunner for the League Two post this morning, whereas Robins has drifted to 7/1.

The Nottingham Post are reporting that David Flitcroft was interviewed for the post on Sunday, with the former Bury boss (who was sacked in November) next in the running at 6/1.
Elsewhere, the former Stevenage gaffer Teddy Sheringham was suddenly cut from 33/1 to 12/1 (Bet Victor), while Sky Bet now have the former England international at 9/1.
Whoever replaces Sheridan will inherit a Notts side dangling dangerously above the League Two relegation zone (22nd), with the club currently on a club-record 10 game losing streak.
But, bear in mind that due to the frequent fluctuation of this chaotic market, the odds listed above will no doubt have changed in the immediate aftermath of the publication of this article!
