Less than four months after leaving Leicester City Claudio Ranieri is back in management with French outfit Nantes - his 17th post in the managerial arena.

Ranieri harshly lost his job at the Foxes just nine months after leading the club to the most astonishing title success in English football history.

The affable Italian went on to be linked with a whole host of clubs, including Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Crystal Palace, Southampton, Watford, Hull and Leeds, however it's now been confirmed that his next destination is accross the channel with French side Nantes.

Ranieri succeeds Sergio Conceicao who left the club earlier this month in order to take charge of Portuguese giants Porto.

Ranieri, 65, had to receive special dispensation in order to bag the job as the rules in France state that coaches aged 65 or over cannot be employed.

The former Leicester boss has previously worked in France with money bags Monaco with whom he led into the top-tier in 2013, followed by second spot behind PSG the following season.

He now returns to Ligue 1 after signing a one-year deal with 2001 champions Nantes who finished 7th last term.
