Frank de Boer favourite for the Southampton and Crystal Palace posts

Two Premier League clubs, in Southampton and Crystal Palace, are currently searching for new gaffers, and if the latest betting is to be believed then they are going head-to-head for the services of Frank de Boer.

The Dutchman, who has previously managed Ajax and Inter Milan, is priced at 6/4 to replace Sam Allardyce at Palace, and 9/4 to become the man who succeeds Claude Puel at the Saints.

The south coast club axed Puel on Wednesday night, and have since inevitably been linked with a number of gaffers, although one manager who seemingly won't be coming to St Mary's is the former Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel who has ruled himself out of the running.

But, one boss who has thrown himself into the mix is Ryan Giggs who can now be backed at 7/1 to bag his first job in management, although it's difficult to envision the Saints placing their faith in the untested Welshman.

Elsewhere, Mauricio Pellegrino, who has also been linked with Palace, is in the frame at 7/1 after an excellent season with Spanish side Alaves.

De Boer was in the running for the job last summer, but in the end Southampton opted for Puel, while the 47-year-old ventured off to Italy with Inter Milan, a position he held for just 85 days.

De Boer has featured in the Eagles market for just over a weeks after his odds were slashed from 33/1 to just 3/1, and he's remained in the top echelons of the market ever this space.
