It may not be the most reliable source for rumours but Twitter has been awash with speculation about that future of Eddie Howe as Burnley manager.
The gossip began to spread on Thursday night after it emerged that training had been cancelled during the day, which some people "obviously" interpreted the reason being because Eddie Howe had been sacked. The suggestion that there had been a power cut at the Training ground was deemed little more than an excuse by some "#TwitterClarets" and Howe had definitely been shown the door at Turf Moor..

Some fans, claiming to be "in the know", then suggested that Howe hadn't been sacked but had merely walked out of a board meeting.
True or not, the rumours certainly seem to split opinion amongst Burnley fans, many of whom seem to be offering support for their young manager but it would seem that many would equally be happy tor the former Bournemouth boss to be given the boot.
As the saying goes, "there's no smoke without fire" and on the back of a midweek defeat at Leicester, the team's third defeat from three on the road this season, it would certainly appear that the pressure is mounting on Howe, who joined the club in January 2011 and if the team don't start to pull away from the relegation zone, the rumours and calls for the manager's head aren't going to go away.
The Burnley board though has allowed Howe to build his own team, with seven of Wednesday's starting XI his signings and for them to react now wouldn't make sense for a club that has made no attempt to hide the fact that money is tight. Therefore, whilst some sections of the Burnley support may be getting impatient, the latest rumours do appear to be just that and as it stands, Howe looks set to be given more time.
BetVictor, who are offering odds on the next Championship manager to leave, have certainly not reacted to the news with Howe still 16/1 in the division's Sack Race behind Paul Jewell, Nigel Pearson, former Burnley boss, Owen Coyle, Darren Ferguson and Steve Kean, who are all under increasing pressure themselves.
