Billy Davies Odds Slashed To Become Next Blackpool Boss

Blackpool's search for a new manager has taken a new turn with former Nottingham Forest boss Billy Davies replacing Nigel Adkins as the favourite in the betting. The 48-year-old has been out of work for a staggering 18 months but has a decent record at Championship level and the Seasiders vacancy could prove to be the job for him.

Blackpool fans are starting to grow restless, with chairman Karl Oyston under pressure to appoint a new manager as soon as possible. The Tangerines are busy searching for their third boss of the season following the departures of Ian Holloway (3rd November) and Michael Appleton (11th January). To date they have suffered rejection from the likes of Sean O’Driscoll, Karl Robinson, Peter Houston, and it appears that former favourite Adkins is now unwilling to open talks following his shock sacking by Southampton.

Davies is currently the odds-on 4/6 favourite in the Next Blackpool Manager Market, having previously been found at 28/1 a few days ago. The experienced gaffer has managed Forest, Derby, Preston and Motherwell during his career but has not returned to the beautiful game since he was sacked by Forest at the end of the 2010/11 season. Meanwhile Caretaker manager Steve Thompson remains in the mix at around 5/1, while it is worth keeping an eye on Owen Cole and Nick Barmby.
