Palermo keen on luring Claudio Ranieri back into managementby Jack Kitson / 24 March 2017, 13:45Tweet
Palermo, the most trigger-happy club in Europe, are eyeing up their fifth manager of the season, and it's a name you may be familiar with: Claudio Ranieri (Corriere dello Sport).
Ranieri is currently weighing up his options following his savage sacking by Leicester City last month.
Back in May the affable Italian led the Foxes to one of the most staggering title successes in football history, yet nine months later he was hurled out of the exit door.
But now Serie A strugglers Palermo are reportedly attempting to lure the veteran gaffer to the club, who have a new President in Paul Baccaglini.
Palermo are currently managed by Diego Lopez, the club's 11 boss in the last two years.
The 18th-placed Sicilian outfit, who have one point in six matches, are a sizeable seven points adrift of safety with nine matches to play, and in truth they appear unlikely to be plying their trade in the Italian top-flight next term.
Baccaglini is believed to be eager to make a statement by bringing in Ranieri, in the summer, although in truth it's difficult to this happening.
