The rumour mill is in overdrive at the moment following reports that Harry Redknapp is interested in the Blackburn Rovers vacancy. Redknapp has emerged as a real contender today (Thursday), with his odds cut to just 3/1 with bookmakers Paddy Power. Rovers are reportedly now set to start their formal interview process, with a number of managers in contention for the Ewood Park job. Meanwhile Eric Black will remain in caretaker charge for the club’s match at home to Watford on Saturday.
Redknapp is currently working as an advisor at former club Bournemouth but that hasn't stopped him being linked with virtually every job vacancy that comes up. The former Spurs boss has previously stated that he only has his sights set on a top level job but speculation is now rife that he could be lured to Blackburn by their global advisor Shebby Singh. It would be a massive coup for the Lancashire club and will no doubt boost their chances of winning promotion back up to the top flight. However, nothing has yet been confirmed.
Fulham coach Billy McKinlay remains the surprise frontrunner in the Next Blackburn Rovers Manager market. Chorley boss and former Rovers captain Garry Flitcroft has emerged as a realistic candidate for the job, while Ian Holloway, Tim Sherwood and Alan Shearer remain in the frame.
