Fabrizio Ravanelli shows love to Heartsby Jack Kitson / 03 August 2017, 13:47Tweet
Fabrizio Ravanelli has hurled his name into the mix for the Hearts job after applying for the post vacated by Ian Cathro, who was axed on Tuesday.
Cathro, in his first managerial position, was sacked after just 30 games and eight months, just days before the start of the 2017/18 Scottish Premier League season.
First Team Coach and now interim boss Jon Daly - who is keen for the permanent job - is one of a whole host of names who have been linked with the SPL post, but the appearance of Ravanelli certainly makes for intriguing reading at 10/1 in the market (Bet Victor).
Ravanelli’s only previous job in the managerial arena was at French outfit AC Ajaccio, however it was a very brief one, 13 games in fact, with the “White Feather” scraping only one victory during his time at the helm.
This was four years ago and despite being linked with a number of Scottish and English teams, including former club Middlesbrough, Ravanelli has yet to return from the wilderness, although after expressing his love for Hearts, could this now change?
We’ll have to wait on that one.
Other names in the betting include Northern Ireland manager Michael O’Neill, Partick Thistle gaffer Alan Archibald, and former Fleetwood Town boss Steven Pressley.
The latter, who captained Hearts, previously said he would never again manage in Scotland, but would apparently go back on that decision if offered the post at Tynecastle.
Stay tuned on this one.
