Neil Warnock scorching hot favourite for Cardiff City jobby Jack Kitson / 04 October 2016, 14:01Tweet
Neil Warnock could be on the verge of storming back into the managerial arena after he emerged as the scorching hot 1/10 favourite to take charge of Cardiff City following the sacking of Paul Trollope.
Trollope was today (Tuesday) dismissed following a rotten start to life at Cardiff, where he won just two of his 12 league and cup games. The 44-year-old only took charge of the Bluebirds in the summer, but a series of poor results meant he was never able to win over the supporters.
Frontrunner Warnock has been out of work since leaving Rotherham United in the summer. The veteran gaffer worked wonders at the Millers, saving the Yorkshire club from the dreaded drop, but has surprisingly not been seen in the dugout since.
Warnock, who recently rulled himself out of the running for the St Mirren vacancy, has made no secret of his desire to have one more stab as a manager, and Cardiff are one of the only clubs he has yet to take charge of.
Warnock's experience would be invaluable to Cardiff who have endured a shocking start to the new season. Just two league wins all term, and six defeats in their last seven games, leaves the Welsh outfit second-from-bottom, with only Warnock's former club Rotherham below them in the table.
Elsewhere, Ryan Giggs can currently be backed at 6/1, while Cardiff legend Craig Bellamy is priced at 7/1 in the Next Cardiff City Manager Market.
