Peterborough United boss Darren Ferguson is currently in a spot of bother following his side’s awful start to the new season. Posh find themselves rock-bottom of the Championship after suffering four straight defeats from their four opening matches. In total the club have lost five consecutive defeats, after also losing to Reading in the Capital One Cup. As a result Ferguson is the second favourite in the Next Championship Manager To Be Sacked betting market at an attractive price of 10/1 with Bet Victor.
Ferguson, of course, has already been sacked by Posh, having lost his job back in November 2009, after the club won just two of their opening 16 games. However, he was re-appointed in January 2011 and at the end of that season led them up to the Championship for the second time.
The 40-year-old has stated that there is no need to panic and is convinced that his side will surge up the table. He will though be more than aware that yet another defeat in their next match away to Burnley on Saturday 15th September will pile on the pressure. Ferguson seems to have lost the support of many fans who have expressed their discontent with the club's woeful start.
Burnley are also struggling, with three consecutive league defeats leaving them 22nd in the table. Bet365 have priced Posh as the 7/2 outsiders for the match, while the Clarets have odds of 45, with a draw available at 5/2.
