Newport County appoint Graham Westley as their new manager

As expected Newport County have appointed Graham Westley as their new manager.

Earlier today (Friday) Westley became the scorching hot 1/12 favourite for the post, and has now subsequently been named as the League Two side's new boss, replacing the sacked Warren Feeney in the dugout.

Feeney was sent packing at the end of September after paying the price for The Exiles' poor start to the campaign, which saw the Welsh club pick up just one win from their opening nine League Two games, leaving them rock-bottom of the Football League with just six points to their name.

It's now the job of Westley to turn Newport's fortunes around, and he certainly has a tough task on his hands. The 48-year-old, who has previously managed the likes of Peterborough, Stevenage and Preston, will be in the stands for Saturday's match away to Colchester united - his appointment doesn't take effect until Monday - with Sean McCarthy and James Bittner leading the first-team until then.
