Peterborough United Sack Dave Robertson

by Andy Dillon / 07 September 2015, 09:12

Dave RobertsonPeterborough United have become the first club this term to sack their manager after giving Dave Robertson the boot following a poor start to the season. Robertson was placed in temporary charge of Posh back in February after the departure of Darren Ferguson, but was unable to lead the club to a top-6 finish, ending the campaign in 9th.

  • Robertson is the first managerial casualty of the 2015/16 season.
  • The 41-year-old only signed a three-year contract back in May.
  • Posh had won just one of their six matches so far this term.

Robertson went on to sign a three-year deal at London Road Stadium in May, however four defeats in six this season - leaving the club down in 20th - has cost him his job.

Rotherham gaffer Steve Evans has emerged as the early 3/1 (Sky Bet) favourite for the League One vacancy, while the likes of Graham Westley, Grant McCann and former boss Darren Ferguson are all in contention in the Next Peterborough Manager Market.
