Speculation is continuing to build over Neil Warnock’s future at Crystal Palace as he continues to be linked with a move to London rivals QPR, Palace as everyone knows are in dire straights off the pitch at the moment and find themselves in a relegation dog fight following their 10 point deduction for going into administration. Warnock has done a good job at Palace under difficult circumstances and he may see an opportunity to manage in the Premier League with an ambitious Queens Park Rangers team. QPR have been looking for a new Manager for a number of weeks now since Paul Hart left Loftus Road in January after just five games in charge, it may be that their owners will see Warnock as the man to lead them to the Premier League.

QPR have been going through Managers like socks in recent times after they were injected with big money from Flavio Briatore, the Italian has now stepped down from the club but they remain well backed and have their sights set firmly on promotion as soon as possible. Mick Harford has been holding the fort at QPR but the team are struggling and look more likely to be sucked into a relegation battle than worry the play-off places. Warnock knows that his future is uncertain at a club like Palace who are barely surviving and has made it be known he is eager for another crack at the Premier League and is thought to be interested in taking over at QPR. It may be a good deal for all involved as Crystal Palace would be due for a big sum in compensation while Warnock would be able to move to an ambitious club with designs on the Premier League.

Warnock has been cagey over the subject of a move from Palace when asked over the last week or two but he has admitted that his current job lacks security and must surely be tempted to look after himself and jump ship to Championship rivals QPR. He has so far denied there have been any discussions with Rangers but surely with this one there is no smoke without fire.

If Warnock does move to Loftus Road as expected then they will be a vacancy at Selhurst Park and the Sack Race understands that Gareth Southgate is a name being mentioned for the role, Southgate is a former Palace player and is looking to restart his career after being dumped by Middlesborough in October. It remains to be seen whether Southgate would be interesting in taking over the reigns at a club that has had to sell their best players and at the moment are looking to survive on a week-to-week basis.

Its been a couple of months since Mark Hughes was shown the door at Man City but he still appears to be high in demand with his name being linked to several high profile jobs over the past few weeks, the latest job Sparky is being lined up for is to be boss of the Turkish National Football Team in what would be a surprise move for the former Man United forward. Turkey are in search of a new Manager after failing to qualify for the 2010 World Cup and it is understood that Hughes and former Chelsea Manager Guus Hiddink are the two names at the top of the list with the Turkish FA, Hughes may see the opportunity as a way of rebuilding his reputation in the UK after leaving Man City in tough circumstances before Christmas.

There has also been regular speculation surrounding Hughes with a return to the Premier League with West Ham, Gianfranco Zola is under big pressure at Upton Park with the club struggling both on and off the pitch at the moment and many are linking Hughes with a rescue mission at Upton Park. The Sack Race understands that should Zola be given the elbow by the new owners at Upton Park then Mark Hughes is the man at the top of the shortlist to come in, Hughes only lost two matches at Man City and had a successful period at Blackburn previously meaning there will be plenty of clubs like the Hammers who will be willing to take a risk on him.

That brings us to Blackburn who themselves are not having the best season under Sam Allardyce which is reflected in the Next Premier League Manager To be Sacked Odds, Allardyce rescued Rovers from relegation last season but they have not really kicked on and at the moment sit just above the drop zone. There are a few rumblings of discontent coming out of Ewood Park right now and most of the fans and no doubt the board would jump at the chance to bring Mark Hughes back to the club where he made his name as a Manager.

At the moment Hughes will be sat back enjoying his time off assessing his next move and he appears to have his options open at this stage, both Gianfranco Zola and Sam Allardyce will be aware that Sparky is lurking in the background waiting to swoop in at a moments notice at either Ewood or Upton Park. A Premier League job seems the most likely at this stage but the Turkey opportunity is an interesting one as he may like a fresh challenge in the Steve McLaren mould who is rebuilding his career successfully in Holland.

Could Jose be heading to Anfield?

Inter Milan boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly unsettled in Italy and pining for a return to England or a new challenge in Spain, so where will the ‘The Special One’ end up next when he leaves Inter? VC Bet have opened up an excellent market called Jose Mourinho Next Club betting amid speculation that Jose is itching to leave the San Siro as he is feeling unappreciated, this despite winning the league last term and are once again in pole position to do exactly the same this season in Serie A. the news that Jose may just be on the market will alert all the major clubs across Europe as the Portuguese Manager has proven track record wherever he has managed, he has tasted success at Porto, Chelsea and Inter Milan.

The favourite for Mourinho’s next port of call at the moment with VC Bet is Liverpool, Rafa Benitez has been struggling at Anfield for sometime and with Jose possibly on the market the board maybe inclined to act quicker than they otherwise would have. As Manager of Chelsea Mourinho had some epic clashes with Liverpool and may relish the challenge of leading them to their first Premier League crown, punters can get odds of 2/1 on Liverpool being the next job for Jose. Real Madrid are lurking as always as they are thought to be less than happy with current Manager Manuel Pellegrini, Madrid have never been shy in sacking a Manager and they are available at 4/1 to be Mourinho’s next club.

However, The Sack Race believes that his most likely destination at this stage could well be Eastlands and Man City who are desperate for success both domestically and on the European front, Manager Mark Hughes is under pressure following a succession of draws and after spending a huge amount of money the board are expecting results. The owners at City may be on the look out for a bigger name than Hughes and it is likely that Jose Mourinho fits that bill perfectly, he would be offered millions in the way of a transfer budget and we feel that this story should be watched closely over the coming weeks and months.

One thing for sure is that while speculation builds that Mourinho is itching for a return to England, all the big Premier League Managers will be anxiously looking over their shoulders as ‘The Special One’ is lurking in the shadows.
