Arsenal are one of the top clubs in the Premier League and have been for the over a decade since Arsene Wenger took charge. The Gunners were languishing in mid-table when Wenger took over and he has transformed them into a title winning side that have played some of the best football in recent memory. Arsenal look to be in a solid position off the pitch with their new stadium starting to pay dividends which should put them on a solid financial footing for years to come and able to compete at the top of the Premier League. However, Wenger’s refusal to splash the cash has infuriated many Arsenal supporters but it has come to the point where he must draw in some high quality players due to the sales of Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri.
Arsenal Chairman Peter Hill-Wood appears to want the club to remain in British hands but the club has been taking on foreign investors for a few years now. American Businessman Stan Kroenke is the largest shareholder with 20.5% and he may well make a takeover bid at some stage in the future. Arsenal are not known as a sacking club and with Arsene Wenger gaining legendary status at the Emirates Stadium he will be the one who decides when he should go and not the board.
