Stadium Villa Park
Time at Club:
In recent times Aston Villa have been chopping and changing managers for fun, with Roberto Di Matteo becoming the latest gaffer to lose his job after he was axed after winning just one of his 11 Championship matches in charge of the club. Steve Bruce replaced the Italian in the dugout, and he'll now be tasked with leading Villa back up to the Premier League.
Up until recently Aston Villa were in an elite group of seven clubs who had been in the Premier League since its inauguration in 1992. However, the club's 29-year stay in the top-flight (including the years preceding the Premier League) came to a miserable end in 2015/16 after they suffered the dreaded drop out of the division.
A mixed set of recent results has seen Aston Villa collect wins versus Barnsley, Nottingham Forest, Bristol City and Middlesbrough while suffering adverse results at Peterborough United, Brentford and Derby County. Draws against Sheffield United, Millwall and Leeds United has seen them show mid-table form at best.
