Time at Club:
Bury are managed by David Flitcroft who took charge in December 2013. Flitcroft led the Shakers up to League One on the final day of the 2014/15 season, which was followed by a 16th place finish last term.
Bury were formed in 1885 and have spent much of the years since in the bottom two divisions of the football League. The Shakers became the first ever team to score a 1000 goals in each of the four divisions back in May 2005 which highlights their struggle up and down the leagues. Bury have been unable to prove keep themselves in the top two divisions and at the moment League Two football is probably the best they can hope for.
Unfortunately for the club, Bury are perhaps best known in recent years for becoming the first team ever to be thrown out of the FA Cup. The Shakers fielded an ineligible player in the competition in 2006 and were were hurled out of the tournament by the FA which had a big affect on the fortunes of the club.
A binary run of results has seen Bury rack up 5 wins in the last 10 games, beating Milton Keynes Dons, Chesterfield, Swindon Town, Shrewsbury Town and Port Vale. Defeats to Wimbledon, Rochdale, Peterborough United, Bradford City and Scunthorpe United has seen them score 17 at an average of 1.7 goals per game while surrendering 16 (Avg: 1.6)
