Time at Club:
After eight months in charge Bury are looking for a replacement for Lee Clark. The manager was sacked after a run of poor results which had left the Shakers sitting in 23rd in League One on 12 points from 16 games. Clark had saved Bury from relegation down to League Two following his appointment in February 2017.
The Next Bury Manager Market has been suspended, with Chris Lucketti the favourite for the post.
Bury were formed in 1885 and have spent much of the years since in the bottom two divisions of the football League. The Shakers became the first ever team to score a 1000 goals in each of the four divisions back in May 2005 which highlights their struggle up and down the leagues. Bury have been unable to prove keep themselves in the top two divisions and at the moment League Two football is probably the best they can hope for.
Unfortunately for the club, Bury are perhaps best known in recent years for becoming the first team ever to be thrown out of the FA Cup. The Shakers fielded an ineligible player in the competition in 2006 and were hurled out of the tournament by the FA which had a big effect on the fortunes of the club.
A mixed set of recent results has seen Bury collect wins versus Shrewsbury Town and while suffering adverse results at Blackburn Rovers, Woking, Doncaster Rovers, Oldham Athletic, Southend United and Blackpool. Draws against Gillingham and Woking has seen them show mid-table form at best.
