Under manager Chris Powell Charlton Athletic have enjoyed a transformation in fortunes. The former Addicts player was appointed manager at the start of 2011. In his first full season in charge he led the club to the League One title, collecting over 100 points in the process. On their return to the Championship last season they finished strong and only missed out on a play-off spot by three points.
Powell of course is a former player at Charlton and one that is respected by the fans and players alike. He has steadied the ship and will now be looking to keep the momentum going into their second season in the Championship.
Alan Curbishley is perhaps the best known Charlton Manager of recent times, he led the club into the Premier League before keeping there for a number of years. It was only when Curbishley moved on that we saw Charlton's fortunes take a dip and they have been fighting to get back to the top flight ever since.
The infrastructure is in place for Charlton to move out of League One and into the Championship as soon as possible with the Premier League once again the aim for the squad.
