Dundee are managed by Neil McCann who performed a u-turn and agreed to become the club's permanent boss, having previously stepped away from his position as interim manager at the end of the season.
In the last few years Dundee have yo-yoed between the SPL and Scottish Championship. Wins against Kilmarnock and Motherwell and defeats to Hamilton Academical, Inverness CT, Hamilton Academical, Hearts, Ross County, Aberdeen and Celtic demonstate slightly erratic form.
