Hearts are managed by Craig Levein who replaced Ian Cathro at the end of August (2017). Levein, who was previously in charge of the club between 2000 and 2004, was working as the club's director of football.
Hearts are widely considered as the 'best of the rest' in the chasing pack behind Rangers and Celtic. They have won the Scottish Championship on four occasions but not since way back in 1960 although they managed to finish second behind Celtic in 2006, which was a huge achievement.
Hearts were able to break the Old Firms dominance in the League which should not be underestimated and not only that they managed to qualify for the Champions League for the first time. 2006 also saw Hearts win the Scottish Cup to cap a brilliant season and one that the fans will not forget in a hurry.
A mixed set of recent results has seen Hearts collect wins versus Hamilton Academical and Kilmarnock while suffering adverse results at Motherwell, Celtic, Celtic, St Johnstone, Rangers and Aberdeen. Draws against Aberdeen and Rangers has seen them show mid-table form at best.
