International

International football management is like no other management as the pressure of a whole nation is on one mans shoulders as he looks to guide his team through difficult qualifying campaigns. International football can be a rocky road for managers and we will be taking a closer look at those men who are in charge of our four home nations.

With the World Cup in 2010 fast approaching the pressure will start to tell on these managers as qualifying games start to run out. International management is a different animal compared to club football due to the lack of time they spend with their players with just a few matches each year. They get little time to shape a team but are seldom allowed time to turn things around if results are not going their way.

England Manager Fabio Capello looks on track to guide his team to the World Cup but things are less clear for the other home nations as qualifying really kicks in. Wales look out of the running and that will put pressure on boss with John Toshack. Scotland are locked in a battle to claim second in their group and that will be boss George Burley’s main aim in the coming matches.

Northern Ireland are in with a great chance of qualifying for the first time in many years and manager Nigel Worthington will hoping to guide them through a tight group.

All the information you need on the International Managers will be right here on The Sack Race as qualifying for 2010 draws to a close. Which Managers will lead their team to South Africa? Which Manager will be joining the Job Centre after qualifying ends?
