Next Republic of Ireland Manager

The Republic of Ireland are currently managed by Giovanni Trapattoni who, along with his assistant Marco Tardelli, has been in charge since 2008. Ireland have endured a mixed start to their World Cup 2014 qualification campaign, recording a last gasp win away to Kazakhstan in their opening match, before suffering a humiliating 6-1 defeat at home to Group C favourites Germany. However, they bounced back with a 4-1 win away to the Faroe Islands, which puts them third in Group C and eases the pressure on Trapattoni.

Trapattoni has since been told that his job is safe. The pressure had been mounting ont he Italian after the Germany defeat but Ireland's campaign is now back on track and he will be tasked with leading them to World Cup 2014.
