Stadium Field Mill
Time at Club:
Mansfield Town have named Steve Evans as their new manager. The Stags parted ways with Adam Murray on Monday, and then made a swift appointment in Evans, who returns to the dugout for the first time since leaving Leeds in May.
Mansfield were taken over in 2010 by Doncaster-based businessman John Radford. The club went on to reach the 2011 FA Trophy Final, before securing the Blue Square Bet Premier League title in April 2013, following a 1-0 win over Wrexham at Field Mill. The Stags have previously won Division Four (1974/75) and Division Three (1976/77) titles, along with the Football League Trophy in 1986/87.
During the hugely successful 2012/13 campaign Mansield achieved a record-equalling 12 wins in a row, while they pushed Liverpool all the way in the third round of the FA Cup.
Mansfield Town have reaped 6 wins in the last 10 games, beating Hartlepool United, Leyton Orient, Cambridge United, Oldham Athletic, Crewe Alexandra and Blackpool. 2 draws against Accrington Stanley and Notts County and defeats to Grimsby Town and Wycombe Wanderers has seen them score 20 at an average of 2 goals per game while shipping 10.
