Mansfield Town are managed by Steve Evans who took over from Adam Murray in November 2016. Evans has spent the summer of 2017 bringing in a host of new players with the Stags one of the favourites to win promotion up to League One.
Mansfield were taken over in 2010 by Doncaster-based businessman John Radford. The club went on to reach the 2011 FA Trophy Final, before securing the Blue Square Bet Premier League title in April 2013, following a 1-0 win over Wrexham at Field Mill. The Stags have previously won Division Four (1974/75) and Division Three (1976/77) titles, along with the Football League Trophy in 1986/87.
During the hugely successful 2012/13 campaign Mansield achieved a record-equalling 12 wins in a row, while they pushed Liverpool all the way in the third round of the FA Cup.
A mixed set of recent results has seen Mansfield Town collect wins versus Stevenage, Wycombe Wanderers, Morecambe and Carlisle United while suffering adverse results at Portsmouth, Doncaster Rovers, Exeter City and Colchester United. Draws against Crawley Town and Luton Town has seen them show mid-table form at best.
