Next Portsmouth Manager Odds

Portsmouth are looking for a new Manager following the departure of Avram Grant from Fratton Park, Grant did a good job at Pompey but could not keep them in the Premier League and with the club still in administration it looks like being a bleak future on the South Coast. The favourite for the hotseat at this stage is Steve Cotterill who took Notts County to the League Two title this season and may want a move to a bigger club like Pompey.

Portsmouth who play at Fratton Park is owned by Ali Al Faraj who bought the club from Suliman Al Fahim who himself was in charge for a matter of just weeks before selling the club on. Paul Hart took over from Tony Adams mid-way through last season after the team found themselves in a relegation battle which he managed to win but after starting this season poorly Hart was sacked.

It is common knowledge that Gaydamak was looking to sell the club on after taking the club as far as he can which has seen some success arrive at Fratton Park. Initially, Gaydamak invested heavily into the playing staff but that money now seems to have dried up and with the clubs new stadium shelved in favour of redeveloping the existing site it appears Pompey are in a difficult phase. Paul Hart is now in charge for the foreseeable future after signing a two year contract but he may well be under pressure should the team start to struggle.

Portsmouth are not normally known as a sacking club but they were quick to dispense with Tony Adams after a poor run and the new owner will want to see an improvement in fortunes next season.

Manager History

Harry Redknapp has been the main stay in the Fratton Park hot seat over the last few years having had two spells in charge of Pompey. Portsmouth have shown they are not afraid to act if the club is struggling and that has been proved by the short lived tenures of Tony Adams and Alain Perrin who were both shown the door after less than a year.
