Time at Club:
Swindon Town are on the hunt for a new manager after parting ways with Luke Williams. The likes of Gary Bowyer, Steve Evans, Alan Archibald and Steve Cotterill are in the mix for the job.
Williams first took charge in December 2015, before being haned a five-year contract in March 2016. However, under Williams the Robins nosedived out of League One in 2016/17.
Swindon have sampled playing football in the Premier League when they gained promotion to the highest tier at the end of the 1992-1993 season, but couldn't hold their own in the top flight and were relegated, with their leaky defence conceding 100 goals.
It would prove to be a continual decline that the Robins would see over the next few decades and they find themselves in League One. Having tasted League Cup success in 1969, Swindon Town fans will be looking for the club to rise up the leagues and in Mark Cooper they may just have found the man they are looking for to prove to be the catalyst for a club, who certainly belong in the higher echelons of the English league ladder.
A mixed set of recent results has seen Swindon Town collect wins versus Fleetwood Town and Millwall while suffering adverse results at Charlton Athletic, Scunthorpe United, Walsall, Bradford City, Sheffield United and Port Vale. Draws against AFC Wimbledon and Milton Keynes Dons has seen them show mid-table form at best.
