Craig Brewster Favourite In Next Crawley Town Manager Bettingby Jack Kitson / 10 April 2012, 16:28Tweet
Craig Brewster is the early frontrunner in the Next Crawley Town Manager Betting after being placed in caretaker charge of the League Two promotion candidates until the end of the season following Steve Evans’ decision to join Rotherham United. Brewster will aim to prove he is the right man for the job with the club’s owners setting him the task of winning automatic promotion to League One.
Brewster, who was appointed first team coach by Evans last summer, has previous managerial experience at Inverness CT (twice), with a spell at Dundee Utd sandwiched inbetween. On Monday he won his first match in caretaker charge, with Crawley narrowly beating Barnet 2-1 to keep them within two points of the top three with five games remaining. Having been up near the top of the table for the whole season Crawley will be eager to finish in one of the automatic promotion spots and will be confident of doing so as four of their final matches are against teams who are currently in the bottom half of the table.
Other managers who feature in the next manager betting include Nicky Forster, Andy Scott, Mark Robins and Martin Allen. Meanwhile the Red Devils have appointed Steve Coppell as director of football, with the former Reading, Brighton and Bristol City boss put in charge of overseeing all football operations.
Crawley are next in action on Saturday when they host AFC Wimbledon at Broadfield Stadium. They are the odds-on 1/2 favourites with Paddy Power, while The Dons are available at 5/1, with a draw priced at 3/1.
