Graham Potter staying at Swansea City following quit rumoursby Jack Kitson / 10 August 2018, 09:47Tweet
Rumours were rife on Thursday night that Graham Potter had resigned from his post at Swansea City after only one game in charge.
The Swans boss endured a desperately disappointing Deadline Day as the likes of Jordan Ayew, Sam Clucas, Federico Fernandez and Jordi Amat left the Liberty Stadium
Meanwhile, Declan John was the only player who came over in the other direction, with the club missing out on Ryan Woods, despite the reduction in his price tag.
Former Ostersunds boss Potter would no doubt have been left crushed with how the final day of the transfer window panned out, and then later in the evening social media was awash with rumours that he’d left the club after two months at the helm.
However, BBC Wales journalist Chris Wathan has since tweeted that the Englishman hasn’t quit and is not planning to either.
Potter’s rebuilding process has unfortunately taken a backstep, but he’ll now be hoping to work his magic in the loan market which is open for another three weeks.
On the opening day the Swans enjoyed a credible late 2-1 victory at Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United, and are currently preparing for their first home game against Preston, which is followed by clashes with Birmingham, Leeds and Bristol City.
To put some twitter rumours to bed, told Graham Potter hasn’t quit Swansea nor is he threatening to. All the same, you wouldn’t blame him for being frustrated in the extreme in the way the last few days have panned out— Chris Wathan (@ChrisWathan) 9 August 2018
