Rafa Benitez and Antonio Conte cut in Premier League Sack Raceby Jack Kitson / 10 July 2017, 10:41Tweet
The Next Premier League Manager To Leave market may have only been open for a few days, but already there have been a couple of movements in the popular Sack Race market.
When Bet Victor released the odds last week it was Brighton boss Chris Hughton who was installed as the surprise early favourite to be axed first. However, the affable gaffer was then quickly replaced by Newcastle's Rafa Benitez at the summit of the betting, which is where the Spaniard has since remained at 5/1, while Hughton has drifted from 5/1 out to 10/1.
Benitez led the Toon Army straight back up to the Premier League after hoisting the Championship title, but while he's immensely popular at St James' Park, there is always the nagging worry that the 57-year-old may suddenly walk away, and if this ever does occur it would be a hammer blow for the club.
So far the biggest market mover is from last season's Premier League winning manager, Antonio Conte, whose odds have been shredded from 33/1 down to just 10/1, making the Italian the fifth favourite to become the first top-flight boss to lose his job.
Conte, who is currently chilling in Sardinia, has been left frustrated after Chelsea's failings in the transfer window, most notably Romelu Lukaku who is set to seal a £75million move to title rivals Man Utd. Although on the plus side the Blues have sealed the deal of Roma centre back Antonio Rudiger.
One manager who could be worth keeping an eye on his Stoke's Mark Hughes (14/1), who will be looking for a vast improvement this term after the Potters finished 13th last season - their lowest standing since 2013.
