Manuel Pellegrini safe at Man City...for now

Manchester City will reportedly keep the faith in manager Manuel Pellegrini, despite ending the 2014/15 season empty handed, according to The Daily Mail. Pellegrini came under pressure throughout the second-half of the previous campaign, but a strong finish saw the Citizens grab second spot behind Chelsea.
City's failure to prize number one target Pep Guardiola over to the Etihad, means they are likely to stick with Pellegrini until next summer, when the process of persuading Pep - whose contract at Bayern Munich expires then - to join the blue-half of Manchester will start again.

Last season Man City's title defence wilted away after Christmas, while they were unable to make an impact in either domestic cup, or the Champions League. At one point the club's position in the top-4 came severely under-threat, leaving Pellegrini's future on a knife edge, however they rallied and won their final six games, thus securing second.
Therefore, it appears that for the time being Pellegrini is safe. According to reports the Chillean will even be handed a sizeable transfer kitty in order to significantly bolster his squad. City's billionaire owners were left unimpressed at City's failure to challenge for trophies last season, meaning they are willing to once again splash the cash in an attempt to bounce back in 2015/16.
