Charlton backtrack on Nebojsa Vignjevic appointmentby Jack Kitson / 14 January 2016, 09:41Tweet
Contrary to reports Charlton Athletic have not appointed Nebojsa Vignjevic as their new head coach following Wednesday's sacking of interim boss Karel Fraeye.
Rumours were rife that the little-known Serbian had bagged the job, however this has not been the case, although he can be found at the top of the Next Chartlon Manager Betting at 3/1 (Sky Bet).
The club have seemingly performed a dramatic u-turn due to concerns over Vignjevic's minimal experience. The 47-year-old has never managed in any of Europe's big leagues, with his only stints coming in Serbia, Montenegro, and Hungary - he is currently the manager of Budapest side Ujpest.
It may therefore be wise to look elsewhere in the betting, with former boss Jose Riga (4/1) reportedly interested in returning to The Valley. The 58-year-old briefly managed the south London side from March 2014 through to the end of the season, leaving after he saved the club from relegation.
Meanwhile, Malky Mackay can be found at 10/1, Peter Taylor at 12/1, while another ex-boss in Chris Powell is out at 18/1....and if you really fancy it Charlton legend Alan Curbishley is a 33/1 long shot!
