Jose Riga Returns To Charlton

Jose Riga has returned to Charlton Athletic after signing an 18-month contract with the club. Riga replaces the sacked interim boss Karel Fraeye, who was sent packing on Wednesday following an abysmal run of form.
Rumours were rife that the Addicks had rapidly found their man in Nebojsa Vignjevic, much to the bewilderment of their supporters. However, the Championship club then performed a drastic u-turn, instead opting to reappoint Riga.
Riga previously managed the Addicks from March 2014 through to the end of the 2013/14 season, saving the club from relegation. The Belgian went on to have brief stints in charge of Blackpool and Standard Liege, before moving on to Metz back in June - a position he has given up in order to return to England.
Riga now returns to the south London side in a similar position to last time, with Charlton fighting for their lives down in 23rd, three points adrift of safety. The 58-year-old has a daunting first match in charge, taking his troops to the home of high-flying Hull on Saturday, with the visitors out at 10/1 to carve out a shock win (Bet365).
