Is this the end for Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid?by Jack Kitson / 14 May 2015, 09:17Tweet
Carlo Ancelotti's future at Real Madrid hangs in the balance after Real Madrid crashed out of the Champions League. Los Blancos were bidding to become the first team to retain the famous trophy, however they were shocked by Ancelotti's former club Juventus in the semi-finals, leaving the Italian unsure whether he'll still be in the dugout next term.
Real's European exit means that they are now extremely likely to end the campaign without a major trophy. The Whites currently trail La Liga leaders Barcelona by four points with just two games to play, although the Spanish season may not even finish due to the strike over TV rights.
Last season, his first at the Bernabeu, Ancelotti led his troops to the Champions League and Copa del Rey double, however no major silverware (Real have won the Uefa Super Cup and Fifa Club World Cup) this time round is likely to cost him his job.
According to reports club legend Zinedine Zidane is posied to become Real's new manager in the summer. The Italian, who is currently the boss of the club's B team Castilla, tops the Next Real Madrid Manager Market at 2/1 (Bet Victor), but is closely followed by the likes of Jurgen Klopp, Fernando Hierro and Joachim Low.
