Laws Could Be Heading For Burnley Exit After Just Ten Games

This week has already seen Phil Brown given the sack from Hull City but the next for the high jump is set to to be Brian Laws who has endured a torrid ten game spell so far at Turf Moor. Laws was a surprise choice to take over from Owen Coyle when he left for Bolton and that has been justified with the Clarets winning just one game under the former Sheffield Wednesday Manager with the club now staring relegation in the face. The Sack Race understands that Laws is close to the exit door with his future likely to be decided if the poor form continues over the nest couple of games before its too late to change.
Some would argue that with just a couple of months left of the season that it would do more harm than good to get rid of Laws but the board at Turf Moor are willing to try anything to keep the club in the top flight. As far as we are concerned it would take a remarkable turnaround to save Burnley as they seem to be heading on one direction at the moment and that is back to the Championship. The club started the season well under Owen Coyle but that form has slowly dipped with Coyle's departure all but sealing their fate, their most recent defeat saw them go down to Wolves at home to leave them three points from safety having played a game more than the team above them.
Laws and Burnley head to Wigan on Saturday with a win the order of the day for the Manager if he wants to see the season out at Turf Moor but it is looking increasingly likely that Burnley will be back in the Championship next season without Brian Laws. They seem to lack the quality needed to stay in the top flight and in a Manager like Brian Laws they seem to be lacking the experience needed at the very top level and that is reflected in the Next Premier League Manager To Be Sacked Odds which show Laws as one of the favourites.
