Blackburn boss Owen Coyle feeling the heat after just three Championship gamesby Jack Kitson / 18 August 2016, 12:52Tweet
The UK may be experiencing some (rare) cracking weather this week but Blackburn Rovers boss Owen Coyle is feeling the heat more than most.
Rovers have had a shocking start to the season, losing all three Championship games, conceding nine goals in the process.
Unsurprisingly this leaves the Lancashire club rock-bottom of the table, something which isn’t sitting too well with supporters.
Blackburn have been stuck in the second-tier since suffering relegation from the Premier League in 2012, and after a disappointing 15th-place finish last term, fans were hoping for big improvements this season.
Back in June Coyle’s appointment sparked huge controversy due his previous employment with Blackburn’s fierce rivals Burnley, while spells in charge of other North west clubs Wigan and Bolton certainly didn’t shine him in a positive light.
It was therefore integral that Coyle shot out of the blocks and made an instant impression…oh dear.
Blackburn now have back-to-back home games against new boys Burton and in-form Fulham, and he knows that if the club’s sloppy start continues he could well be the league’s first casualty of the season.
