Arsene Wenger Rumoured To Be Offered A New Deal At Arsenalby Jack Kitson / 18 February 2013, 10:03Tweet
Arsene Wenger is reportedly set to be offered a new two year contract at Arsenal despite Saturday's shock FA Cup exit at home to Championship side Blackburn Rovers. The Gunners' chances of domestic silverware are over for yet another season following the miserable 1-0 defeat, which left many supporters calling for the Frenchman's head.
Wenger has been in charge of Arsenal since 1996, with his current deal running out at the end of next season. The 63-year-old has previously led the Gunners to three league titles and four FA Cups but, as has been well documented, they have failed to win any sort of silverware since 2005.
The odds are against Wenger's men ending their dismal drought this season having drawn German giants Bayern Munich in the last 16 of the Champions League. The teams clash in the first-leg at the Emirates on Tuesday, with Paddy Power handing Arsenal odds of 11/5 to progress through to the quarter finals, while Bayern are the hot 3/10 favourites.
David Moyes remains the bookmakers’ favourite in the Next Arsenal Manager Odds. The Scot's contract at the Merseyside club runs out at the end of the season but he is refusing to hold talks until the current campaign comes to a close. This has inevitably sparked rumours that he could be in line for a sensational switch to the Emirates. Meanwhile Wenger's is the 4/6 favourite with Stan James to choose the French National Team as his next job.
