Roberto Mancini odds-on favourite to replace Slaven Bilic at West Hamby Jack Kitson / 18 May 2017, 10:25Tweet
Slaven Bilic's future at West Ham remains the topic of widespread debate, and now rumours of a summer switch in the Hammers dugout have been further fuelled after the club's reported target, Roberto Mancini, was made the odds-on favourite for the East London job.
Mancini has been linked with West Ham ever since Paddy Power opened up the Next West Ham Manager Betting last month, but the biggest move in the market came today (Thursday) after the Italian's odds were slashed from 7/2 to just 4/7.
The former Premier League title winning manager has been out-of-work since leaving Inter Milan last summer, but is believed to be keen to return to the dugout, and has England on his radar.
No one really knows what direction West Ham are planning to take at the end of what has been a disappointing season on-and-off the pitch. The move into the London Stadium has been far from plain sailing, many of the club's signings have flopped, while star man Dimitri Payet jetted off to France.
The above factors have combined to pile the pressure on Bilic whose two-year tenure could soon come to an end. Should this occur then there will be no shortage of suitors for the job.
Behind Mancini in the betting are the likes of Lazio's Simeone Inzaghi (6/1), Fulham's Slavisa Jokanovic (8/1), Huddersfield's David Wagner (8/1), while Marseille manager Rudi Garcia also features at 10/1.
