Felix Magath on last legs at Fulhamby Jack Kitson / 18 September 2014, 12:03Tweet
Felix Magath's future at struggling Fulham continues to be under severe scrutiny after the club suffered their sixth defeat of the season on Wednesday, leaving them rooted to the bottom of the table with just a solitary point to their name. The 5-3 defeat at high-flying Nottingham Forest has subsequently piled even more pressure on the under-fire 61-year-old German, who may now not see it through to the weekend.
Six defeats in seven games is simply unacceptable for a club that was installed as one of the ante-post favourites for promotion, following their relegation from the Premier League. Despite splashing out a Championship record 11m on Ross McCormack, the Cottagers have suffered a catastrophic start to life back in the second-tier. However, Magath, who has won just four games since taking charge back in February, remains confident in his position at the West London club, and believes he is still the man who can inspire a turnaround in results.
Despite losing at Forest the Cottagers showed heart and passion by fighting back from two goals down to take a shock 3-2 lead, however their defensive frailties let them down once again, as they went on to leak in three goals. Fulham now head into this weekend's clash at home to Blackburn Rovers four points adrift of safety and in desperate need of their first victory of the season.
However, whether Magath will still be in charge remains to be seen. Chris Hughton and Glenn Hoddle currently lead the way at 4/1 with Bet Victor in the Next Fulham Manager Market, while Tim Sherwood, Tony Pulis and Neil Lennon also feature in the betting.
