Carlisle boss Greg Abbott rock bottom after Coventry defeatby Jack Kitson / 19 August 2013, 11:54Tweet
Carlisle boss Greg Abbott has come under-fire following his side's shocking start to the 2013/14 season. The Cumbrians have lost all three of their opening League One games, leaving them 23rd in the table without a single point to their name.
Carlisle have been plagued by defensive errors that has seen them concede a staggering 13 goals in just three matches. They suffered a heavy 5-1 defeat on the opening day, which was followed by a 4-0 thrashing at Bradford and then another 4-0 hammering at home to Coventry on Saturday.
In the build up to the match Abbott described it the biggest game of his tenure at Brunton Park but the dismal defeat ultimately left him devastated and “rock bottom”, and he now faces the toughest period of his the four-and-a-half years in charge.
The struggling club travel to unbeaten Colchester on Saturday in desperate need of a huge turnaround in fortunes. Their recent woes have seen them installed at the 5/6 favourites with Paddy Power to get relegated, while they are now a 20/1 long shot with Ladbrokes to make the play-offs.
