Rochdale Sack Manager Steve Eyre

Rochdale have sacked manager Steve Eyre and his assistant Frankie Bunn after six months in charge. Eyre leaves the club struggling down in 22nd in League One following Saturday's goalless draw with relegation rivals Yeovil. Results simply haven't gone well in recent weeks with the club winning just one of their last ten league games. Youth-team coach Chris Beech will take charge for their upcoming game away to Tranmere.
Eyre replaced Keith Hill as Rochdale manager during the summer in what was his first managerial role. The League One outfit have never got going this season, winning only four times league games, with the disappointing 0-0 draw with Yeovil proving to be the nail in the coffin. Eyre leaves the club with a poor record of six wins in 27 maches. Stan James have responded quickly by installing a Next Rochdale Manager Betting market, which is predictably tight at this stage, with the likes of Garry Flitcroft, John Coleman, Chris Beech and Gary Jones among the names in the frame early on.
Rochdale travel to 15th place Tranmere on Boxing day. Tranmere, who have lost six matches on the spin in all competitions, find themselves as the odds-on 10/11 favourites for the win with Stan James, while The Dale can be backed at 3/1 to come away with the win. Meanwhile, a draw is available at 12/5.
