David Moyes mulling over Galatasaray offerby Jack Kitson / 01 July 2014, 10:13Tweet
David Moyes remains locked in talks with Galatasaray over their vacant manager's job. The Scot is currently mulling over a tempting £4m-a-year contract to take charge of the Turkish club, as he bids to restore his battered and bruised reputation following a disastrous 10-month spell at Manchester United.
The Istanbul vacancy arose in mid-June after Roberto Mancini decided to leave his post by mutual consent after eight months in charge. Since then the Turkish giants have reportedly targeted USA boss Jürgen Klinsmann and Germany’s Joachim Löw as their main preferences, although both managers are currently at the 2014 World Cup, making negotiations difficult.
Moyes previously stated that he wanted to spend time travelling the world to learn more about football and broaden his horizons, however the lure of managing in the Champions League again could see him return to the dugout sooner than expected. The 51-year-old was recently linked with Southampton, however the south coast club eventually appointed the former Feyenoord manager Ronald Koeman.
