A well deserved 1-0 win for Roy Hodgson's Liverpool side over the weekend against mid table Bolton was a hard fought match that was eventually won in the 86th minute with the winner coming from Liverpool's Maxi Rodriguez. This win gives Liverpool their first run of wins in the Premiership and with their next league game next Sunday guaranteed to be an exciting fixture as they take on Chelsea at Anfield. However first of all they have to get through the 2nd leg of their Europa League tie against Napoli on Thursday evening for which Liverpool are the favourites being given odds by Paddy Power to win the game of 5/6 and 5/2 for the draw a Napoli win is currently at 10/3.
Liverpool really needed this win because as well as boosting morale in the side it has also seen the pressure on the manager eased and the much needed three points have helped Liverpool move well clear of the bottom three where they were stuck and moved the side to a much healthier 12th place in the Premier League table.
The win for Hodgson's side has seen the odds for him to be the next premiership manager to be sacked adjusted from 6/4 to 10/3 with internet bookies Paddy Power. Hodgson now finds himself in third place out of the managers currently walking the managerial tightrope he just behind Newcastle United's manager Chris Hughton who has also moved down from 6/4 to 11/4 following his sides 5-1 win against Sunderland at the weekend, they have both been overtaken by West Ham manager Avram Grant who after his sides 1-0 defeat at the Emirates against Arsenal he finds himself in the precocious position of the next manager likely to be given the boot at odds of just 9/4, earlier last week he was at the healthier odds of 4/1 to be sacked by West Ham.
